A beautiful soul, forever in our hearts • চিরকাল হৃদয়ে

असतो मा सद्गमय।
तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय।
मृत्योर्मा अमृतं गमय॥
ॐ शान्तिः शान्तिः शान्तिः॥
Asato mā sadgamaya, tamaso mā jyotirgamaya,
mṛtyormā amṛtaṃ gamaya. Om Śhāntiḥ, Śhāntiḥ, Śhāntiḥ.
Lead us from the unreal to the real, from darkness to light, from death to immortality. May there be peace, peace, peace.
Some people don't leave us when they go — they simply move into a quieter room of the heart, and stay there forever. This space is for Baba — for his laughter, his wisdom, his gentle strength, and the love that still surrounds us. Through these photographs, his voice, and the memories of all who knew him, we keep his light alive. Sit a while. Remember him with us. Light a diya, and leave a few words — so that everyone who visits feels how deeply he was loved.
In our tradition, a lit diya carries a prayer for the soul's peaceful journey. Tap the lamp to light one for Shyamal.
Shyamal Choudhury was, above all, a family man — the steady centre around which all of us turned. To the world he may have been one of many, but to those who loved him he was everything: a devoted husband, a guiding father, a loyal friend, and a soul who gave far more than he ever asked for.
He carried himself with quiet dignity. He believed in hard work, in honesty, and in treating every person with kindness. He could make an ordinary evening feel like a celebration, and a hard day feel a little lighter. His advice, his stories, and his laughter are woven into who we are.
On the 6th of March, 2026, he left this world — but he did not leave us. He lives on in every lesson he taught, every value he planted, and every heart he touched. We carry him forward, and we always will.
"वासांसि जीर्णानि यथा विहाय, नवानि गृह्णाति नरोऽपराणि।"
As a person sheds worn-out garments and wears new ones, so the soul casts off
worn-out bodies and moves on. — Bhagavad Gita 2.22
